Another Rainy Day Project

It's raining. If you know me well, you know I'm not much of an outdoors type of girl unless it's sunny and warm out! With this cold damp weather, I have no plans to go out today and decided to digi-scrap the photo of me and four of my downline at the Stampin' Up! Regional Seminar we attended in Vancouver last month.

This particular layout is not my own - a fellow demonstrator had created it and I loved it immediately, so I copied it.  ;)   The stamp set I used on this page is called "Bliss" and is actually one of the FREE Sale-a-Bration selections.  It's from the digital content CD which includes digital stamp sets, Designer Paper, Quick Accents, ribbon, buttons and a Decor Elements image - all on ONE CD!!  Digital items can be used in My Digital Studio or another digital software program!

This particular set is available as an actual stamp set as well!

Love it.

Don't forget - Sale-a-Bration is only on for 6 MORE DAYS!!!  Take a peek here at all the FREE Sale-a-Bration selections!!!

Splish Splash with My Digital Studio!

This past weekend I took the boys to our local pool. My parents were going and offered to take them in and I thought it would be a great opportunity to snap some pictures. I decided to spend some time in My Digital Studio this evening and digiscrap a few of the photos.  Here's a simple page I created this evening.  (Click the pic for a closer peek).

Once again I was reminded why I love this program so much! It was SO simple to play around with the layout and try out different cardstock colors and embellishments with no wasted product! Love it!

If you have any questions about this amazing program, definitely let me know!

My New Petal Cone Die

When Stampin' Up! released our current mini catalogue, one of the first things that caught my eye was the new Petal Cone Big Shot die.

I am a sucker for new dies and have a growing collection, but I'll be the first to admit that this particular die didn't quite make my "must have" list. Sure, it was cute and I liked the shape, but really, how many triangle boxes would I actually make.  Nope, I didn't think I'd need this one.

Well, over the past couple of weeks I've seen a lot of projects made using this die...and oh boy, was I WRONG! This die is SOOO versatile and I am continually amazed at what others are coming up with! Of course I couldn't wait a second longer and I ordered the die. I am NOT regretting it! I've only had it since Friday and am loving the projects already!!!

When you run it through the Big Shot, these are the die cuts you get - perfectly cut and scored!

(Click the pics for a closer peek)

To make a full box, you'll need to cut out two of these.

This is a Petal Cone box I put together last night using the "original" design of the die.

With a punched tag, some embossed butterflies and a little ribbon, I've got the most adorable little "Spring" box ready to fill with treats.

Now, with a little cutting and a bit of folding (super simple) you can make another little box with a completely different look!  Perfect for weddings, birthdays, baby showers, etc.

I didn't come up with this next project idea, but found it online, so whoever came up with it is a genius!  SO adorable!  It's an Ice Cream Cone CARD!!!!  With embossed ice cream, a red glittery cherry and some yummy chocolate ribbon, who wouldn't love to receive this fun card!

Pull the ice cream out of the cone and you've got a perfect spot to write a birthday message or party invitation details!

Here's a look at a project I got to make when I attended a Stampin' Up! Regional Seminar last month.  It's a gorgeous banner perfect for my craft room!

This project is one I plan to offer as a class next month, so if you like it as much as I do, let me know if you'd be interested in attending!

Just a reminder that this particular die is in our Occasions Mini Catalogue which is only available until the end of April.  This die may carry over to the next catalogue, but if not, you'll want to make sure you order it before the end of April.

Happy Stamping!

A grrrrreat birthday...

Just a quick post this afternoon. My 6 year old son was invited to a birthday party for a friend of his yesterday afternoon and of course I had to stamp a card to go along with the gift!

I wasn't feeling overly creative though, so rather than try to come up with something new, I just copied the layout of a card I'd stamped a number of months ago. I WAS feeling creative enough to coordinate the colors of the card with the wrapping paper though! ;)

I used our Under the Stars stamp set.  I just adore the little critters!  I thought the wood grain from our Woodland Walk Designer Series Paper worked perfectly with the set as well.

I hope he liked it! :)

Happy Stamping!!!

Another Color Coach Combo

I had a few spare moments this afternoon while my kids were happily spending time in the playroom, so I treated myself to a few minutes of stamping. One of the colors I knew I wanted to work with was Riding Hood Red. It's not one I normally go to (I prefer the richness of our Cherry Cobbler) so I flipped through our Color Coach to see what color suggestions I could work with. The first suggestion was:

I had all three colors, so I went with that.

I also wanted to ink up a new stamp I just received. It's our "Elizabeth" stamp and it's one of the few individual stamps we carry in our Idea Book & Catalogue. AND, until the end of March, you can actually receive it FREE with a $60 order!  That's right!  It's one of our Sale-a-Bration options!!!

Are you ready to see what I created?

Ta Da!!!

Isn't it cute?  Not bad for a card that took less than 10 minutes!!!

The butterflies were cut out with my Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die and my Big Shot.  I also used my Big Shot and my Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder to add some additional texture to the background.  I highlighted it a bit more by sponging on a little Early Espresso ink.

I finished it off with some Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon & a few of our Pearls.  Let me know if you try this color combo!

Happy Stamping!

ETA:  An hour after I finished the card, I went back to look at it and it just didn't feel "finished" to me.  I decided to add a strip of Baja Breeze cardstock punched with our Scallop Trim Border Punch (# 118402).  I think it finishes it off perfectly.
