Autumn Banner

I think I just qualified for the worlds most boring blog post title.  Maybe I'm just tired this morning, but I couldn't come up with anything catchy!  ;)

When I attended a Stampin' Up! Regional event this past February, one of the projects we stamped was an adorable "Create" banner. It's the one pictured in my blog header. I had so much fun stamping it that I decided to stamp another one, but this time with a Fall theme.  (Click the pics for a closer peek)

Each of the flags are cut from our new Spice Cake designer paper using my Petal Cone Bigz die.  The flowers for each letter were cut using my Fun Flowers Bigz die and each letter is stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock and then punched out using our 1-3/4" circle punch.

Before adhering the letters on the flowers, I used our 2-way glue and went around the entire edge and added our Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  I love the look of glitter and our Dazzling Diamonds does not disappoint in the sparkle department!

The "ribbon" on each end is a piece of our Spice Cake fabric which I just ripped from the main piece so it's got that nice feathered edge.  I also used a few of our Vintage Trinkets - I just adore these little pins and mini buttons.

The buttons are actually little brads, so they're super easy to add to a project.

The letters are stamped using our Broadsheet Alphabet set and I stamped the mini flags and some of the letter backgrounds with some of the outline images of our new stamp set Gently Falling.  The little More Mustard flower on the mini flag was punched out with a *ahem* retired punch and added one of our self-adhesive Basic Pearls to the center.  In place of the retired punch, I would have preferred to use the flower punch in our Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, but I don't own it....yet. ;)

I enjoyed stamping this banner as much as I did stamping my first.  The occasions are endless - Birthdays, Baby Showers, Holidays... I already have plans for a Christmas one.

If you have any questions, let me know.

Feelin' Spicy

If you've had an opportunity to take a peek in our new Holiday Mini Catalogue, you've probably seen our new Spice Cake Product Suite offering. I absolutely love, love, love the new Designer Series paper, gorgeous fabric and accessories and the beautiful Fall-inspired stamp set "Gently Falling".

I finally had an opportunity to sit down and create a couple projects using these new products. The first is a step card. It's such a unique card design but still uses a "regular" size piece of cardstock (this is cut 4-1/4 x 11, folded in half). It's the special cuts and scores that give it the unique look.

I started with a Soft Suede base and decorated it with a piece of our Spice Cake dsp, some Very Vanilla seambinding ribbon and the Maple Leaf image from the stamp set. Love!

The second project I made was so quick and simple to put together and my plan is to make more as place setting markers for the Thanksgiving Dinner we're hosting for my hubby's side of the family this year.

It's called a "twist" container and is SO cute! It's the perfect size to add a few chocolate treats.

The "ribbon" is just a 1" strip of our fabric which I literally ripped from one of the three "fat quarters" to give it a rustic look, threaded it through the punched holes and tied a knot.

Quick, simple and SO cute!  The above shows all three fabrics included in the Spice Cake fabric offering.  Even if you don't sew, these fabrics are great for using on cards and other projects in place of ribbon and coordinate perfectly with the dsp.

Hope you like them! :)

Party Invite

It's our daughter's 3rd birthday next week and this year because I ran out of time and forgot to stamp real ones I decided to email out out invites I'd created using our My Digital Studio software.  It was so quick and simple to put together! (Click the pic for a closer peek)

Now, I've taken out all the party "details"  because as much as I would love to invite the world to her party, we just don't have the space! ;)  I knew right away I wanted to use my new Beau Chateau designer paper download.  You'll recognize the paper if you saw my post using this designer paper on my vintage card.  I also used one of the small safety pins from the Vintage Trinkets download along with the pearls from our Basic Pearls and Rhinestones download. I love the added "visual texture" of the stitching on the left and the white watermark on the right.  And little girls and pink satin ribbon just go together!  I think almost every one of these items is available to purchase in "real" product as well!

Wouldn't this design work work well for a baby announcement?  Change the colors and a few of the embellishments and you'd have a perfect Christmas card!  So many options to choose from! :)

If you have any questions, let me know!

Inspiration Overload

Saturday I spent the day with a group of local Stampin' Up! demonstrators. I love getting together for a day of chit chat, good food and stamping!

One of the things we did is have a card swap. I love to participate in swaps and go home with a ton of gorgeous new sample cards.  Saturday's "New Catalogue" swap did not disappoint! All I can say is WOW! These girls are SO talented!

Are you ready for an overload of inspiration? Here they are (in no particular order).  Enjoy!

Aren't they all just gorgeous!  Do you have a favorite?  I'd love to know!

Happy Stamping!
