Running behind...

“Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans” ~ John Lennon

Wow, it's amazing how life can get busy and regardless of how well you schedule it, things don't always go to plan!

I'm in the process of redoing my craft room and I thought I'd be finished by now, but unfortunately walls are still being painted and shelves are still not up! Because of that, I haven't really had an opportunity to stamp! I've got some great project ideas in mind though, so hopefully my craft room will be finished soon so I can get back to stamping!!! ;)

SO, while I don't have any pictures of my personal craft room to show you quite yet, I thought I'd share a few inspiration craft room pics I'd come across online.

And who says you need a full room to dedicate to crafting!  If space is tight, check out these amazing "craft rooms in a closet".  GORGEOUS!

This one may not be a closet, but it would certainly work in one!

Check back soon (I hope) to see some before and after pics of my craft room and see some of the storage solutions I've got in mind that would work in any size crafting space!

You KNOW I had to try it....

While cleaning up the packaging from my son's birthday gifts a couple weeks ago, one of the pieces heading to the recycle bin was a thick plastic sheet (think transparency sheet on steroids!) that I knew I just HAD to try cutting with my Big Shot.

I popped it in my craft room and unfortunately, there it sat until last night. I'm lovin' my new Candy Wrapper Die and wondered if it would work. Would the plastic hold its shape after being cut & assembled? No harm in trying - if it didn't work, it would go into the recycle bin where it was originally headed.

I cut a piece large enough to fit my die and ran it though.  It worked!!! The die cut and scored it perfectly.  Click any of the pics for a closer view.

I added a strip of sticky strip to the narrow tab edge and folded it up.  I was wondering if the plastic sheet would crack along the scorelines when folded, but it was fine.

I filled this one with Hershey Kisses (it fit 8!) and after a little bending and folding, it closed up perfectly!

I was so excited that I immediately wanted to try another one. ;)  With our White Stazon, I stamped the cut sheet with a few snowflakes and folded it up. I LOVE our Stazon for stamping on plastic sheets or cello bags - it dries almost instantly and is permanent on non porous surfaces.

I had some of our gorgeous new 1/8" Taffeta ribbon in a jar, so I stuffed a few pieces of that in.

Who says these boxes are only good for candy!  Of course, I'd still take chocolate any day. ;)

So, there you go!  Perfect little gift toppers or stocking stuffers that only took a few minutes to make!!!

What a Hoot!

With the arrival of an order yesterday, one of the items I received that I was super excited about is Stampin' Up!s 2 step Owl Punch.

118074 Price: $23.95

When I first saw this punch in the catalogue, I loved it immediately, but there were so many other things I wanted as well that it just stayed at the bottom of my wish list.  Well, with the number of examples that have been popping up all over the Internet, I was lovin' it more and more so this punch was very quickly creeping closer to the top of my wish list!!!  Finally, I just had to order it!

One of the items I made up this morning was a Halloween tag for a little gift box made with my Box #2 die.   With the addition of some thin strips of our Whisper White cardstock, I got the cutest little mummy-owl!  How adorable is this?!

Punch the owl body out of Whisper White, flip it upside down, and with a little trimming, you've got the sweetest little ghost!!!  Can you imagine this little guy with googlie eyes?!  How cute would THAT be!  I also added two "wings" by punching out the largest flower using my Boho Blossom Punch.  I've attached him to a cute little treat box which I created using my new Candy Wrapper Die.  LOVE it.

These two particular owls are not my own ideas - I've seen a variety of different designs online.  BUT, now I've got so many ideas running through my head and can't wait to try them out!!!

Happy Stamping!

Last night I held my first Christmas Stamp-a-stack of the year where everyone stamped a dozen Christmas cards each - 4 each of 3 different designs.

I had seven lovely women signed up and from the sounds of it, everyone had a great time! After rearranging my living room, I was able to add two additional tables so we were all able to be in the same room.  I had set up each card design at its own table so the women worked at their own pace through each station completing their cards.

Look at these women hard at work stampin' away!

Of course I had to come up with some yummy nibbles, so I baked chocolate fudge cupcakes with a peppermint chocolate icing and finished it off with some crushed puppermint candies. Yummy...

If you missed this event, you won't want to miss my next one!  On November 8th, I'm offering a Christmas Stamp Camp where we will be stamping 3 embellished Christmas cards.  For additional details, click here!  Hope to see you there!
