Thank you Mrs M!!!

So tomorrow (or I guess it's now today) is my son's last day of kindergarten. I still can't believe how quickly the year passed! Wow! We were so fortunate to have an amazing teacher which made the transition from being home with me all day to school part time SO much easier for me... um, him to deal with.  (OK, so he was totally fine and I only cried the first day!)

Anyway, as a thank you, I picked up some small potted pansies and of course I had to have a card to go along with it!   I didn't get into my stamping workshop until after 11pm though, so I knew I had to stamp something quick!  Rather than reinvent the wheel, I just made a smaller version of my butterfly card I stamped last week. I'm going to apologize in advance for the bad pictures - it's past midnight and this was my only chance to take a quick snapshot!  Yes, I tried to color coordinate the flowers, tissue paper AND card. ;)

It's just a little 3x3 card, but it serves the purpose, right?  My hubby took one look at it and said "you don't do simple do you".  When I asked him what simple was, he said a piece of folded paper with a stamp on it.  Um, no, i guess I don't do simple. ;)

Anyway, I hope she likes it!

Butterfly Smooch

If you've paged through the current Summer Mini catalogue, you may have come across our new "Smooch Spritz" paints. These pearlized accent sprays add a splash of colour to projects and come in a ready-to-use glass spray applicator. They're even acid free, so they're safe for your scrapbooks! They're available in 4 different colors: Gold Glow, Silver Foil, Vanilla Shimmer & Log Cabin.

I used the Vanilla Shimmer on one of the projects I did with my Stampers 6 Club girls last night. It adds a gorgeous pearly shimmer which catches the light perfectly.

So pretty!  To create the background on the card, we sponged ink over the Mostly Vintage stencil which is also in our current Summer Mini.

For the aged-look on the butterfly (the butterfly was cut with our Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die), we stamped our outline image in Chocolate Chip classic ink, coloured it in with our Stampin' Write markers and then gave it a spritz of water.  The water makes the water based ink start to bleed and feather and soften/age the image as it dries.  So pretty!

Sneak Peek - Upcoming Stamp Set

With the new catalogue release just over a week away, I thought I'd show you a sneak peek of a brand new stamp set! One of the benefits of being a demonstrator is the previlage of being able to preorder from a selection of upcoming new products and one of the sets I ordered is called "Artistic Etchings".  I find myself going though a "love-of-anything vintage" stage right now and knew I had to have this set the second I saw it.

The set contains 6 stamps and comes in wood or clear mount.  While I'm not allowed to show you the actual stamp set, I AM allowed to show you anything I create with it.  I used every single stamp in the set on this card. ;)  Click the image for a closer peek.

This card uses Not Quite Navy, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla & Crushed Curry and our Chocolate satin ribbon to finish it off.  I loved the way it turned out.  I think I'll make up a second but add a little embossing to make a few of the images really pop out.

Happy stamping!
